iOS 16 will bring some new security and functional features

It’s just about Apple season, as WWDC is happening right now. Now only that, but the iPhone 14 will be unveiled in a matter of a few months. The new version of iOS will be a hot grab for iPhone users. There were some new integrations and features that we can look forward to when iOS 16 lands.

The lock screen

The presentation started off with the lock screen. You’ll be able to customize your lock screen pretty deeply. For starters, the software will separate the subject of the wallpaper and place it in front of the time and date information. Also, you’ll be able to customize the screen by changing the font of the time and date information. As for the overall look, you can apply different filters for different effects. The notifications will be placed at the bottom and rotate on a vertical carousel for a less cluttered view. A really neat feature is the ability to create multiple lock screens with different setups that you can cycle between.

iMessage

iOS 16 makes messaging easier. While you’re using voice dictation, the keyboard remains up so that you can type while using voice dictation. So, you can smoothly switch between the two. When it comes to accidental messages, there are some features that you’ll find useful. For starters, you’ll be able to edit a message that you’ve already sent. Then, the message will be updated on the receiving end. Also, there will be an undo send button that will unsend the message.

Safety Check

If you want to cut ties with a person, Safety Check will help in that process. It will stop sharing your location via the Find My network, sign out of the iCloud account on the other’s phones, and it can completely reset the permissions that you give another person. This will help you completely escape a person that you want to get away from.

iCloud shared photo library

This is a separate iCloud library that is shared between several people. Everyone who has access to the library will be able to view, edit, and manage the photos. You can also set your camera to automatically share the pictures to the library when they’re taken.

These are some of the primary new features coming to iOS 16, and we can expect some more to come out before the iPhone 14 launches. That phone will launch sometime in the summer, so if you’re an iPhone fan, there’s a lot to look forward to.
