The Motorola Razr 2022 & Moto X30 Pro get a new launch date
The new launch date is August 11, and it has been announced by the Lenovo Mobile China GM, Chen Jin. He shared a new teaser for the Motorola Razr 2022, which has the August 11 date on the cover screen of the phone.
You will also notice that the time is set to 2 PM, which probably reveals the exact time the event will start. 2 PM China time translates to 8 AM CET, 7 AM BST, 2 AM EST, and 11 PM PST (August 1). Now, the Motorola Razr 2022 is the star of the show, but it won’t be the only phone to launch. The Moto X30 Pro will also arrive. That is the company’s upcoming high-end smartphone, so it will likely manage to get some spotlight as well.
Both devices are expected to launch globally too
Both of these phones are expected to launch elsewhere too, but during a separate launch. This is a China only launch, though a global one is expected to follow soon. So, why did the August 2 event got canceled? Well, truth be said, we still don’t know. Lenovo did not officially announce why, though there were assumptions. The main assumption is because of the rising tensions between China and Taiwan, and Nancy Pelosi’s recent visit to Taiwan. Considering that Lenovo did not reveal the truth thus far, chances are we’ll never know for sure. The August 11 seems to be scheduled now, though, so we’ll likely see these two phones announced then. The Motorola Razr 2022 is expected to include a rather large secondary display, and be considerably more powerful than its predecessors. Motorola is said to utilize the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 this time around, to make this phone a proper high-end offering.
