This feature is not exclusive to the ZenFone 9, not at all. Some other OEMs offer you to do something similar, but the vast majority do not. Needless to say, a feature like this is really useful, as you can set up a perfect layout for your camera needs. You can select only a handful of modes you’ll actually use, in addition to photo and video, of course. For example, you can include the night mode, along with a portrait mode, and remove everything else. The possibilities are endless. Let’s see how you can do that. You’ll find step-by-step instructions below, along with belonging screenshots.
How to customize camera modes on the ZenFone 9
The first thing you’ll need to do is launch the stock camera app. We’ll be making those changes directly from the settings of that camera app, not from the phone’s settings. So, just swipe up, and select the camera mode from the app drawer.
Once you do that, you’ll need to swipe across the camera modes above the shutter button. You’ll need to swipe right-to-left, until you reach the last option called ‘More’.
Once you reach the ‘More’ option, you’ll be able to see the remaining camera modes that are not available on the carousel. If you’d like to change something, tap the pencil icon in the top-right corner.
At this point, you’ll be able to drag and drop camera modes, and set everything up just the way you like it. Do note that you cannot move around ‘Photo’ and ‘Video’ modes, they’re fixed. Everything else is editable.
Simply hold and then move a specific mode, either around on the carousel, or to the ‘More’ section, where it will be out of sight and out of mind.
Once you’re done editing, and everything is the way you like it, tap the ‘Save’ option at the bottom.
There you have it. Now you have all the camera modes that you need on that carousel, above the shutter key. You can quickly select whatever you need without any extra steps. This is a feature that every phone should have, basically, as different people use different camera modes.
