Now, most people probably winced when they read the title. Meta isn’t quite the most trustworthy company, and people will probably feel their data leaving them the second they set foot in the store. Folks can’t deny that there will be a community of people who will boycott this store.
The Meta retail store will sell Meta and Ray-Ban products
Meta, since it gained that name last year, has been putting a lot of time and energy into pushing folks into the metaverse. So, it’s no surprise that its physical location will help in that process. It’s a location where people can buy Quest VR headsets. There, you’ll also be able to try out the Quest 2 VR headsets. Along with that, you’ll be able to leave with a 30-second mixed reality clip of you playing a game. If VR isn’t your thing, you can still buy other devices. The company is also selling its Portal videophone at the store. This is an Alexa-powered smart display that operates like Echo Show, and Nest Hub devices. If you’re looking for new smart glasses, you’ll be able to demo the Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses. These are $300-dollar smart glasses that can take HD videos and share them on social media. This is something that’s about as scary as it gets, but Meta is all for it. This location will open in Burlingame, California on May 9th, so there’s not much time to wait if you’re an avid Meta fan. Below are some images of the interior of the store and, well, it looks pretty nice, actually.
