A new report by Sammobile reveals some minor details about the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Notably, both the phones are due for launch this year. When it comes to foldable phones, Samsung holds the numero uno position in the market. Though this year at CES 2021, some brands have showcased rollable smartphones, foldable is still the way to go. If there is one smartphone that was an actual upgrade over its predecessor, it was the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The phone came with improved hinges, better cameras, better display (in and out), better protection for the display, it got rid of the camera cutout, and much more. The Galaxy Z Flip also got an upgrade and was launched last year with 5G support. Now, the company is working to launch the third generation of both the foldable devices. The company is likely considering a couple of different naming options. The Galaxy Z Flip 2 or Galaxy Z Flip 3. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 makes sense because there are already two versions of the phone, i.e. the 4G and 5G variant. So, technically, it would be the third variant of the phone.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will carry model number SM-F926, while the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is SM-F711
There were rumors about a Galaxy Z Fold “Lite” phone as well. But as of now, there is no concrete evidence that the “Lite” version exists. Talking about some details about both the foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will carry model number SM-F926. On the other hand, the clamshell will have the model number SM-F711. Further, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 may arrive with at least 256GB of onboard storage. Moreover, it will run Android 11 with the upgraded One UI 3.5 on top. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is speculated to be available with 128GB and 256GB of onboard storage. Just like the Galaxy Z Fold 2, it may also come with Android 11 One UI 3.5 out of the box. Now, here lies a hint. Since these devices are speculated to come with One UI 3.5, we may not see these devices until later in 2021. One UI 3.5 will surely come with a host of changes and new features. Besides, few days ago, tipster IceUniverse tweeted some details about the launch dates of the phones. The tweet reads, “We may have to wait 5 months to see Flip 3 and Fold 3.” So, putting out mathematical brains on work, both the phones may debut in July.
