The revelation comes from Pocketnow, which cites the South Korean forum Clien. The post mentions that Samsung’s top-brass wants the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra to compete with the Apple iPad Pro. The company’s ‘Ultra’ variants are synonymous with its flagship smartphone lineup. However, the company will introduce the Ultra variant to its high-end tablet lineup for the first time with the Galaxy Tab S8.
Samsung will also launch a basic Galaxy Tab S8 and the Galaxy Tab S8+
There’s also going to be a Plus variant of the Galaxy Tab S8. Both Wi-Fi and 4G/5G variants of the Galaxy Tab S8+ will feature the Snapdragon 895 chipset, as per the forum post. Samsung hasn’t provided enough information on the release date of the Galaxy Tab S8 series. However, it was previously rumored that the tablet would debut around the same time as the Galaxy S22. This puts the release timeline somewhere within the first quarter of 2022. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will be the most powerful of the three, in line with the company’s smartphone lineup. This variant is likely to feature an 11,500 mAh battery and a 14.6-inch screen. Samsung also has to contend with the global chip shortage before the release of the Galaxy Tab S8 lineup. Perhaps this is why the company could use multiple CPU variants depending on the market. We learned last month about Samsung’s eagerness to use only the Snapdragon 898 chipset for the upcoming tablet. This is in contradiction to what this new revelation suggests. Keeping this in mind, we suggest you take it with a grain of salt. The Exynos 2200 is expected to mark Samsung’s comeback in the chip industry. The chipset will reportedly feature AMD’s ‘Voyager’ GPU underneath, offering a significant boost in performance. Regardless of whether the tablet will feature Qualcomm or its own Exynos chipsets, it’s clear that the Galaxy Tab S8 will be the flagbearer for high-end Android tablets in 2022.
