Based on pre-orders, consumers seem to be quite interested in the Galaxy Z Fold 3 & Z Flip 3
The report is citing industry sources, as it seems like Samsung crossed the 450,000 units pre-order mark. Pre-orders kicked off on August 17, and they’re ending today, on August 23. It is said that Samsung may receive up to 600,000 pre-orders by the time the window closes. Now, if we include unlocked models into the equation, that number could climb all the way up to 800,000. To put things into perspective, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 alone received 80,000 pre-orders. It is worth noting that the numbers we’ve talked about apply to both the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3, together. Still, the difference is huge.
The vast majority of consumers who pre-orders these devices are quite young
The report also says that the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 are especially popular with younger consumers, though that is not surprising. Based on the provided information, from a local carrier (in Korea), 49-percent of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 pre-orders come from people in their 20s and 30s. In case you’re wondering about the Galaxy Z Flip 3, well, that number is even higher. 57-percent of consumers are in their 20s and 30s, for now. It will be interesting to see how many of these devices will Samsung sell by the end of this year. Both phones are more affordable than their predecessors, comparing launch prices, of course. Still, both of these phones are quite pricey, and not everyone can afford them. The sheer fact Samsung refined the design of both phones, and included some new features, seems to blend well with the company’s marketing. Quite a few people seem to be interested in the two devices. Considering that the sales of the Galaxy S21 series have been somewhat disappointing, these are great news for the company. If this trend continues, Samsung will be even more inspired to create better foldables, even though these numbers are for Korea only.
