It seems like this new limited edition model will be exclusively available in China to celebrate the upcoming event. The Olympic Commemorative Edition Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G will be available in a solitary 8GB+128GB configuration. Customers in China can get the device starting January 15. Priced at CNY 7,999 ($1,258), this special edition model won’t go easy on consumers’ wallets.
Samsung previously launched limited-edition variants of the Galaxy S21 for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics
While this model could be exclusive to China, Samsung could offer the variant to athletes or medal winners at the upcoming games. The Beijing 2022 Winter Games start on February 4 and go on for over two weeks until February 20. Interestingly, Samsung is could unveil the Galaxy S22 lineup sometime between these dates. Reports suggest a delay in the company’s initial February 8 launch date, possibly pushing the announcement to February 15.
Samsung fans will remember that the company offered a limited edition Galaxy S21 5G to Olympians and Paralympians during the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics last year. All 1,700 athletes received this particular model of the Galaxy S21 5G. There’s plenty to look forward to from Samsung in 2022. The company is launching the trio of Galaxy S22 devices next month. However, much like any other Samsung flagship release, there’s barely any mystery left about this new flagship. The Korean manufacturer’s first smartphone of the year is the Galaxy S21 FE, which made its debut this week. The phone was initially expected to release in mid-2021. However, the global chip crisis forced the company to push its launch to January. Some analysts believe the chip crisis could take a couple of years to abate. But Samsung would hope that it is sorted out sooner. Separately, Samsung will also bring the much-awaited Galaxy Tab S8 over the next few months. This is going to be an important device for the company, considering the fact that it couldn’t launch the Galaxy Tab S7 successor in 2021.
