Sony is allegedly planning to launch 6 smartphones in 2023, here’s a list
Based on this information, Sony is planning to launch the following devices: PM-142x-BV, PM-143x-BV, PM-144x-BV, PM-145x-BV, PM-146x-BV, and PM-147x-BV. This doesn’t really make much sense in this form, so let’s put things into perspective. It is said that three of these devices will utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Two will use the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC, and one will rely on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor. So, three devices will have a flagship SoC. Those phones will likely be the Xperia 1 V and Xperia 5 V, the company’s upcoming flagship devices. The Xperia 1 V will be the company’s main flagship, while the Xperia 5 V will be its smaller variant. The third device that will likely utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the Xperia Pro 2023, should Sony choose to announce a new one. The Xperia Pro originally launched in 2020, while the Xperia Pro-I arrived in 2021, so it’s about time.
The Xperia 10 V may be the sole Sony phone with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC
The Sony Xperia 10 V may be the sole device that will utilize the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor. That leaves us with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, and two devices rumored to utilize it. Those two devices are probably ‘Xperia Ace’ phones. The Sony Xperia Ace IV will be one, and the other may be a Japan-exclusive Xperia Ace smartphone. Do note that all of these are just guesses based on Sony’s past models. It is highly unlikely Sony will announce a new smartphone before the end of this year, at least not a global model. We’ll have to wait until 2023 to get some new hardware goodness from the company.
