This Surface Duo 2 concept does resemble the original Duo
Truth be said, this concept design does remind us of the original Surface Duo. It has noticeable bezels above and below the display, just like the original. That separation between its two displays is also more than noticeable. It also seems to be quite thick like the Surface Duo, while you’ll notice its power / lock button (which doubles as a fingerprint scanner) and volume up / down buttons on the right side. In the provided images, the designer also included a stylus. Microsoft’s logo is included on the outside, and it looks quite sleek, especially on the black variant of the device. A Type-C USB port is also easily visible at the bottom. Some images of the Surface Duo 2 did leak last month, and these renders are based on those. If those images end up being accurate, then this concept design will as well. The Surface Duo was announced back in August last year. Needless to say, its successor is expected to drop soon. We still don’t know what to expect in terms of specs, though.
The original Surface Duo had its fair share of issues, let’s hope the Duo 2 will avoid most of them
The Surface Duo essentially came with an outdated SoC, and a premium price tag. On top of that, it had some issues on the software side of things. Let’s hope that the successor can find its way around such problems. The Snapdragon 888 SoC is rumored for the device, along with 5G connectivity. That’s pretty much everything spec-related that surfaced thus far. We also know that it will include Android OS, just like its predecessor, likely Android 11. In regards to its cameras, we’re not sure what Microsoft is planning, but the device sure needs to improve in that department as well.
