Following the latest change, when you search for a song in YouTube Music, you’ll see a new “Downloads” tab alongside YT Music, Library, and Uploads. You can find all your downloaded songs, albums, and playlists for that keyword under this tab. First spotted by 9to5Google, it apparently doesn’t include “Artists” but does bring up results for the “Your Likes” Auto Playlist. Tapping it takes you to “the top of the playlist.” The feature works the same way when you’re offline. Just that you now have only two tabs — YT Music and Downloads — and the former is expectedly empty. YouTube Music users have been long waiting for this capability to search downloads directly from the search bar, especially those who mostly use the app in offline mode. The new feature now lets them find their favorite song quite conveniently.
YouTube Music gains more search features
Google has been actively working on adding new features to YouTube Music over the past year or so. The “Library” tab in search results that we mentioned above is fairly new as well. It started appearing for users early last month and rolled out widely just a couple of weeks back. Now, we have the ability to search downloads in YouTube Music. Google was spotted testing this feature midway through last month. And a month later, it’s now available publicly. According to the report, this new YouTube Music feature is already rolling out widely to users across the world. It should be available with version 4.40 of the Android app, which rolled out on the Google Play Store earlier this week. It’s not yet live for iOS users though. Interestingly, Google recently pulled the Now Playing UI redesign for the iOS client after a few users reported visual bugs in the redesign, though it didn’t impact the usability. A subsequent update could restore the revamped UI and also add the new search feature. Android users, meanwhile, can click/tap the button below to download the latest version of the YouTube Music app from the Play Store. If the new feature isn’t available for you, force-stopping the app from “App info” might help. DOWNLOAD YOUTUBE MUSIC
